Cutting his musical teeth on bands like Aerosmith at a young age, and later listening to grunge music from the early 90’s. All of which inspired Justin Atkins to start drumming at the age of 13. Justin first met Steve Martin (TWR singer/rhythm guitar) in High School. During that time Justin was playing drums for the band Low Sunday. Steve was singing in another local outfit under the moniker Kain. Their 2 bands would gig frequently together, and the two learned to share a common musical ground that they still have to this day.

After High School, Justin went off to pursue an Audio Engineering degree while keeping busy in his early 20’s playing in a few short lived bands around the West Side of Indianapolis. Once out of High School for a few years, Justin moved to Florida where he gave up drumming for a number of years to finish college. After graduating college, Justin moved back to Indianapolis where he picked drumming back up.

Steve and Justin once again crossed musical paths and formed the band 400 West also featuring TWR lead guitar player, Johnny Young. 400 West was short lived and after disbanding Justin once again gave up drumming to spend time with his newly born daughter. Itching to play again, Justin formed the band Lies Never Sleep. Johnny later recruited Justin to join his new band with Steve, The Waldemere Revival.
