John Young ~ Lead Guitar

John Young
Lead Guitar
Said by Joey Buttram of Hidden Relic Productions in his weekly newsletter, “Lead guitarist John Young always puts me in a trance. He is the type of player I could see touring on his own, and making it. He plays in an almost Clapton-like appeal as he ripped into the space created by the harmonica player.”

John's styles of indie rock and folk fused with ambient tones derive from his musicianship and variety of influences growing up in Indianapolis, Indiana. John wasn't always a musician in a band. He began singing as a child with his family in church and elementary school choirs, and through TWR he continues his passion for performing live today. Many members of John's family were involved in music; with his father and grandfather each being guitarist themselves, it’s no wonder John picked up an instrument himself. John started playing guitar at age 16, and has had formal training from native Indiana tutors. Including Dave Donahoe to name one teacher. His rigorous studying and practice schedule blended with his instinctive and natural talent to manifest his defined sound. John’s distinctive role is as guitarist, harmonizing vocals, and writer in his band, The Waldemere Revival. Along with writing music and performing songs, John is working diligently on new art concepts for album and merchandise.
